2.5lb’s of GUILT FREE Holiday Weight
By Rich | July 9, 2009
For the past 2 weeks I’ve been on holiday with my wife Sarah, our 2 year old daughter Chloe and Sarah’s parents. We went out to visit my Mom and Dad who live in Spain. We had a great time… it was just a bit too hot though… 49 degrees C some days.
As you might expect my healthy eating went out the window a bit… I’m only human after all… but I only gained 2.5 lbs.
Now you can look at it in two ways… 2.5 lbs is not a lot considering I was eating at irregular times and snacking on crisps, biscuits and sweets and drinking a few beers (This is how I prefer to look at it)…
Or you can think this is a complete failure that I’m supposed to be the one setting an example to you and coaching and helping you to lose weight.
So why am I sharing this with you?
Well, I want to show you that I am human that I’m a regular guy… and that I slip up from time to time… and but more importantly I want to tell you I DON’T FEEL GUILTY and I’m not going to beat myself up when I do.
Why not?
Because I was totally aware of what I was eating. I knew that I was eating the ‘fun foods’, I didn’t over indulge but I knew I would gain some weight.
I no longer believe in strict diet plans that tell you what you can and can’t eat. I don’t sign up to the belief that restricting the foods you want to eat is good for you. I know that if I deprive myself of the good stuff there will come a time where I’ll crave the one thing the diet says I can’t have and I’ll end up totally pigging out.
That’s why I now eat what I want when I want but I follow my ‘5 Steps to Natural Weight Loss’ and I’m more aware of what I’m eating and how much to eat… YES I fall off the horse sometimes but I get back on and forget about it… this is something the so-called diet experts won’t admit.
I want YOU to do the same.
If you have a day where you eat more of what you shouldn’t than should… put a line under it be aware of what has happened and move on. Don’t ever feel guilty or disappointed in yourself.
What I’m coaching you to achieve is develop a way to lose weight naturally by eating all the foods that you want to eat and still lose weight.
As long as 80% of the food you eat is the healthy good stuff, then don’t beat yourself up if the other 20% is made up of the foods the diets tell you you can’t have.
So now I’ve had some fun I know that focusing on my ‘5 Steps to Natural Weight Loss’ will help me shed those holiday pounds and get me heading in the right direction again… I’ll keep you posted with my progress.
What do you think? I’d love to read your thoughts so please leave a comment below…
