My Overeating VS. Waste Battle
By Rich | August 6, 2009
One of the biggest hurdles I face everyday is stopping eating when I’m full and leaving some food on my plate.
You should know if you have read my ‘5 Steps to Natural Weight Loss’ (if you haven’t you can get your free copy now by filling in the form on the right) that this is one of the key steps in achieving weight loss and keeping it off.
But I still struggle with it every day.
Most of us were brought up being told that if we left any food on our plates that this was a bad thing… “you’ll get sent to bed without any pudding” or “there are children starving in Africa that could live off what you’ve left”
Even now when we’re all grown up the same sayings still ring in our ears when we leave the slightest amount of food.
But if you want to lose weight this HAS to change.
What’s the point of overeating on food to feel so full and bloated, what’s that going to achieve?
Try to think of it this way:-
As soon as the food is put on the plate it is wasted regardless of whether you eat it or not.
When you first start out using the techniques I’ll show you, when you’re becoming more aware of when you’re full, you’ll probably leave some food.
But over time you’ll retrain yourself into knowing what quantity of food you can eat comfortably and you’ll find you leave less and less.
Some days you might clear your plate but as long as you’re not stuffing yourself silly, you’ll be well on your way to achieving your weight loss goals.
What do you think?
Have you got any childhood stories you’d like to share that you think have an influence on the way you view food today?
If you have, I’d love to hear from you so make sure you leave a comment below.
